FAQ | How To Setup Email On An Android Phone


Step 1: From the home screen, open the Applications Tray, and then touch Email.

Step 2: Enter your Email address and Password then select Next.

Step 3: Select the type POP3

Step 4: Enter your Incoming Server Settings.

a) Your Username and Password should auto-populate from what you have already entered
b) The POP3 server should be one of the following:
a. mail.mosaictelecom.net (for Mosaic DSL customers)
b. mail.chibardun.net (for older DSL customers)
c. mail.mosaicmobile.net (for cellular/air card/Digital Connect customers)
d. mail.mosaictelecom.com (for employee email)
c) The Port will be 110
d) The Security type should be None
e) Delete email from server should be Never

Step 6: Press Next.

Step 7: Enter the Outgoing Server Settings

a) The SMTP server should be one of the following:
a. smtp.mosaictelecom.net (for Mosaic DSL customers)
b. smtp.chibardun.net (for older DSL customers)
c. smtp.mosaicmobile.net (for cellular/air card/Digital Connect customers)
d. smtp.mosaictelecom.com (for employee email)
b) The Port should be 25
c) The Security type should be None
d) You can choose if the email will prompt you to sign in every time, by making the checkmark green, next to Require sign-in

Step 8: Configure your Account options.

Step 9: Enter a name for your account, the name to be displayed on outgoing messages, and then select Done. Your account is setup and your Inbox will be displayed.

From your inbox you can select "Menu", then "Account Settings" and explore your options

Information on other types of mail accounts:

To access Yahoo! Mail you must be a Yahoo! Mail Plus subscriber.
* When you enter a Yahoo! Mail Plus account and your password, you will get the following message “Mailbox access is not supported for some types of Yahoo! Mail accounts”. After selecting "OK", your account will configure successfully. All other Yahoo! accounts will result in a “Setup could not finish, username or password incorrect” error message. Visit www.yahoo.com for details on subscribing or upgrading to a Yahoo! Mail Plus account.

* Hotmail/Windows Live Accounts: While you are setting up your email, you will receive the following message: "Attention: Only some ‘Plus’ accounts include POP access allowing this program to connect. If you are not able to sign in with your correct email address and password, you may not have a paid ‘Plus’ account. Please launch the web browser to gain access to these email accounts.” When you select "OK", your account should still configure automatically.

Enterprise Account Setup

Android devices don't support the capability to sync with Microsoft® Exchange.
* For other options to sync your contacts from your previous device or PC to your Google contacts, (which will sync to your device) check out Google’s Sync Services www.google.com/sync.

To remove an email account from the Email app on your Android Phone:
1. Open the Email app.
2. Press Menu.
3. Tap Accounts.
4. Tap and hold the account you want to delete.
5. Tap Remove account.
