Friends of the Library Members

For almost 30 years, Rice Lake's Friends of the Library organization has actively supported our public library and its programs. Some of those programs include the following:

Books for Babies at Lakeview Medical Center
Book Discussion Groups
National Library Week Activities
Special Programming/Classes for Adults
Summer Reading Programs
Holiday Children's Parties

Weekly Story Hour
Author Visits
Basement Bookstore
Community Collectibles on Display
Magazine & Book Donations
Equipment & Furniture Purchases

We have the following goals:

Community Collectibles on Display, a monthly
exhibit coordinated by the Friends of the Library.
Above is a collection of antique books.

To foster a closer relationship between the library and the citizens in the Rice Lake area.
To promote knowledge of the functions, resources, services, and needs of the library.
To lead in the development of a program for the extension and improvement of library services and resources.
To aid in the provision of adequate housing and other facilities for the library.
To attract bequests and gifts of books, money, or other appropriate materials beyond the resources of the library budget.
To enable supporters of the library to become acquainted and share their enthusiasm for the library and its mission.
