It has been awhile since my last entry on this topic.
Sorry to say, it has not gone very well. The one credit card between us is
still a good idea, but my wife and I screwed up on paying it off every month.
We wanted to take a Norway trip and that was were we got the money from.
The trip ended up getting cancelled, but not the charges. A real
mess.
Anyway we each have our own cards and buy our own food. She is on a strict
diet and we don't eat the same anymore. I now pay her an amount each month
and that pays for the house stuff that stays the same each month. Things
like mortgage payments, insurance, and the like. The varying items, she
tells me and I pay her half. Otherwise, we each buy what we want and each
pay for the same.
It is working OK. We both have a problem with spending. I like to buy big things once in awhile and she buys little stuff all the time. I am not sure which is worse.
