Plat Map:

The plat map is from Washburn County Land Atlas and Plat Book, 2001. The information contained may not be up-to-date. Check with Washburn County for the latest information.

Townships are nominally 6 miles by 6 miles and are designated by Township and Range numbers. The Town of Bass Lake is Township 40 north and Range 10 west. This is usually written as T.40N.-R.10W. A section is nominally 1 mile by 1 mile so there are 36 sections in a Township. Sections are numbered starting in the northeast corner of a township and proceed in a serpentine fashion, i.e. east-to-west for sections 1 to 6 then west-to-east for sections 7 to 12, etc. Legal notices concerning land a partial give section-township-range. For example, the Bass Lake Town Hall is in section 18; legal notices concerning the town hall would read 18-40-10.
