The Plan Commission was originally established by the Bass Lake Town Board in May 2002. There are seven members on the Plan Commission; six Bass Lake citizens and one member from the Town Board. Members have staggered terms of one, two, or three years expiring on April 30 each year. Plan Commission is responsible for land use planning for the Town. In particular, the Plan Commission is responsible for generating a Comprehensive Plan for the Town under a state law that is known as the "Smart Growth" law. The Plan Commission Ordinance was adopted March 11, 2003 by the town board.
Bass Lake citizens are encouraged to participate in Comprehensive Planning. All Plan Commission meetings are open to the public. All meetings and agenda will be posted at the official Town posting sites as well as on the here on the website. Written comments may be submitted to the Plan Commission either through the Chair or through email.
